Lion King
Jody, Michael, Nathaniel and I all went to see The Lion King a couple of weeks ago. It was the most amazing thing that we have ever seen! If you ever get a chance, we all would recommend it. Lydia was able to spend the day with our friends, Phil and Carolyn Kirkendall.
We are looking forward to seeing Mary Poppins in Dallas sometime in October.

Welcome to the 2nd Grade
Nathaniel will be going to the second grade next year -- YEAH!! He worked really hard this past year and was able to receive a gold medal for reading over 100 books and making over 90% on at least 60 tests about the books that he read. We are so proud of him. The pictures are from his first grade awards where he got three certificates and his gold medal. Way to go, Nathaniel!

Playing Nerts at the Retreat
Oh, this is a F-U-N game. It is called Nerts and its like Solitaire ... except you play with several people. You build your Solitaire pile in the middle of the table to where everyone in the game can play on the piles. Okay, a little confusing ... Jody and I will have to show you all how to play one day :) Girls from Concord showed us ... and we have had a blast playing.
OK State Ladies Retreat 2009
In April, Concord Missionary Baptist Church hosted the OK State Ladies Retreat in OKC. I believe the final count for the retreat was 158 ladies. It was an amazing weekend of praise and worship to the Lord. Each of the ladies did a wonderful job on gathering information about their topic. Everything that you can image was talked about, cried about and laughed about this weekend. There was a fashion show preformed by the ladies from Wellston Church and they did absolutely wonderful. And, they had tons of fun with it :)
The first picture is of Marnie Gregg (Owasso, OK), Ruth Cordonnier (Norman, OK) and Mary Harris (Moore, OK).
The second picture is of the music leaders from Concord Baptist Church - Caroline Johnson, Leslie Conditt and Cindy Prince. These ladies did a great job with getting us all involved worshipping the Lord. And, our cousin Jody Hooks was asked at the last minute to play the keyboard for the weekend. That was a big task as the keyboard was out of tune and it seemed that one leg on the stand was shorter than the other, b/c the entire keyboard was wobbly ... Jody had to almost chase after each key :)
The last picture was one that I took of the filled room at the retreat. We really did enjoy ourselves and look forward to more years to come.

Ma Meek and her boys ...
Pops
Near Edmond, OK there is a store called Pops. I blogged about it last month when we went to the Red Round Barn in Arcadia (just down the road from Pops). This time we went at night and we were able to see the huge soda pop bottle lite up at night. It is way cool! If you ever get a chance to go, it's a must. They have a small diner inside, with yummy burgers. There is a huge lot out back that the kids just run and play while we wait for a table. And the amazing thing is, that they change out 500 sodas each week. Each time we have gone, we have brought Michael back a six-pack of unusual sodas.
Slideshows
Okay, now that I know how to do slideshows ... that's probably all you're gonna see from me :) They are a great way to show off all the many pictures that I am trying to take of the kids. Enjoy!
